our new baby
Posted in General on 05/02/2009 03:04 pm by katLots to write about today. After a year and a half of Sean and me talking about buying a new car, we finally picked our newest baby up today!

His name is Edward. Yes, we’ve already named him. We were sitting at the dealership and Sean made the comment that my car was sparklier than his car, which instantly made me think of a comment that Jeff Cotten had made a while back about certain people and how they Sparkle! (If you don’t get the reference, go here.) Anyway, it was the perfect name for my car, even though it makes me snicker every time I think of it.
The first road trip is already planned for Edward. We’re finally competing in an SCCA Nationals event in Farmington, New Mexico on May 15 – 17, so we’re taking the Fit on a road trip up there (the Miata’s not coming because we’re actually co-driving another car). I can’t wait to get it out on the open road and stretch the car’s legs a bit.

Yep, one of the criteria for cars around here is a manual.

Well, and talking with Stephen about his, the Fit is much like the turbocharged Subarus: the engines like to rev, and the manual does a much better job of helping you exploit that.
