The Catch Up Post

Since kat has last posted quite a few things have happened, so here is a quick rundown.
Halloween, our friends Fred and Diane (owners of Blackwatch Racing) had one of their famous parties. Kat and I volunteered to help provide food. We made quite a bit, and had a ton of fun in the process. A quick list- around 40 Lbs of Pulled Pork (made on my new smoker- click here for pics), 100 cup cakes, my roasted red pepper hummus, some salmon/creme freshe crackers, boiled shrimp, Pot stickers, and chocolate silk stout pies

Then it was time for Kat’s birthday, so we went upo to Flagstaff to escape the house, and ended staying in one of the best B&B’s we have ever been to.
We also took a nice hike that weekend and made it up to the Lowell Observatory as well. The Observatory was wonderful, we got to look through the main scope at the moon, and they had a smaller one out on the grounds, the most spectacular thing we say saw Jupiter through that scope, it was large enough to even see the red spot. A great weekend overall, the house was phenomenal and we will be going back.
After all that it was the Grand Getting-Ready-For-Lots-Of-Relatives time, Kat’s parents (Bob and Kathy) as well as her Brother and sister-in-law (Stewart and Charlene) All managed to cram themselves in the house for Thanksgiving. We also invited down Fred and Dian with Fred’s Mom again (it is tradition now) and Jeff with his new girlfriend Sunni. I think we had 11 People all together. The main attraction was the smoker again, we did 2 13 LB turkeys for around 7 hours in the smoker. I think we may all be sold on that preparation in the future.
Now Kat and I have both of our holiday parties this week, and on Christmas day we fly out to Kona to spend Christmas and New Years with my grandmother. So if you have not heard much from us, well we do sort of have an excuse.
We do hope that everyone else is having a happy holiday season, we think about all you guys this time of year.
