Have Yourself a Merry Epileptic Christmas (Bonus Thanksgiving Post Too)
I was reading over at the Grassroots Motorsports Forum and came across a post that had this video clip in it. I couldn’t resist so here is a link to the video I am talking about:
From what I’ve been able to find out, this was done in Ohio. It involved 16000 lights, was automated using an 88-channel Light-o-rama computerized light controller, and the song is “Wizards in Winter” by The Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
On an unrealated note, Kats parents are flying in town tomorow to spend Thanksgiving at our house. Perfect time to come visit, as it is 80 during the day, and drops down to the 50’s at night, and we havent had any rain in about a month now. We will be having at least 7 people sitting down for Thanksgiving dinner, and this year we dicided to try the almighty fried turkey. A 20lb fried turkey… Pictures will be taken, and much fun will be had, what are the plans for Thanksgiving back at your house?

I think this may be a pseudo-hoax, according to conflicting internet information. Most folks think the light display is real, but the synch to the music was done using video editing software.
Either way, nice clip.
Thanksgiving: in-laws are renting a cabin in the North Georgia mountains for Turkey Day Weekend. Several days with just the folks, my wife, a laptop, two external hard drives and hours of Dragon*Con video to edit (so damn far behind it isn’t funny).

Just checked on Snopes, right now the status is undetermined. I hope it is real, I think it would be excellent to try something like that.

I’m headed down to my maternal grandmother’s house tomorrow, with all the dread that inspires on my part. :sigh:

We are going to the new Georgia Aquarium for the day. Out to diner in the evening. NOT cooking! Amy and Mike are in Augusta for Thanksgiving holidays.

I meant to reply a couple of days ago. First, cool clip, even if it turns out to be somewhat “artificial”.
As for Thanksgiving, we drove out to my parents’ house (northwest corner of the state) last night. We spent most of today with them and more family at my grandmother’s house. Then we stopped by a party of sorts that some local friends were throwing at their house on the way back in. Lots of food.
