lightning storms

It’s that time of year again. As of yesterday, it’s officially monsoon season here in Arizona. What does monsoon season mean for us? Three things: 1. Incredibly hot weather (well into the triple digits now), 2. Definite spike in the humidity, thankfully, usually resulting in rain at night, and 3. lightning storms. The third is my favorite. Last night, on my way home from a friend’s house, I got treated to a spectacular lightning storm. I’m currently gazing out at one through my office window, too. Last night’s was particularly special, though, because there had been just enough dust kicked up by the wind that the lightning was almost orange and it created a beautiful glowing haze around it as it struck. It’s just so beautiful, I can’t even describe it. I’ll try to get some shots this weekend and post them.

In the mean time, Sean and I are doing fine. Sean’s nose is healing fine, although he’s been dealing with a bit of a sore throat from drainage this past week. All I care about, though, is the fact that he can breathe and sleep again. Yeah! Oh, and Sean and I have both finished the latest Harry Potter book. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend getting your booty to the store and picking up a copy. It’s definitely well worth it. You know a book’s good when that’s all I will do for a weekend. I bought it Saturday afternoon and only put it down when absolutely necessary (we had friends over on Sunday) until I finished it Sunday night. Really. Go out and buy it. You won’t regret it. I’ll even stop this post right now so you can go buy it right now.

(You’re still here. Go away. Go buy the book.)
