home owner no more
Posted in Casa de Geek on 07/16/2004 10:48 am by katSean and I are homeowners no more. Well, that’s true for another *looks at her calendar* 5 days, at least. Yesterday at just about noon, my realtor called me and informed me that she was signing the closing papers at that moment and that the proceeds would soon be on their way to us. Okay, once more not the entire truth. We will, in fact, never see this money. This money will magically travel from one title company to another title company without ever actually passing into our hands. I felt it best this way. This way, it’s less money for me to cry over losing back into another home.
Everything is continuing on it’s scheduled flight pattern to be landing at our home on Friday, July 23 at 9am. This will be preceeded with a scheduled stopover at the First American Title Company on Wednesday, July 21 at 8am to sign papers and a flyby of the home at 11:30am. Friday night, we move everything but a change of clothes and the cats to the house. Saturday morning, the cats get left in the hotel room while we have movers move everything into the house. That afternoon, after Doug and Lisa arrive, we’ll drive back up to the hotel, grab the cats and check-out. We felt it best to just leave them in the hotel room rather than have The Cats vs. The Movers.
Much rejoicing will occur after that, for we will have our lives out of storage. Oh, to have games to play again and sewing machines to sew on again. Oh, to have a fridge that we can store more than a half gallon of milk and last night’s leftovers in. The countdown is on.
