a day off
Posted in General on 10/04/2002 10:12 am by katI’m taking the day off today. My one coworker that works on my team that was going to be at work today knows. My boss had an inkling that I’d be taking today off, but she’s in Boston, so she doesn’t care. It’s Fall Break weekend at UAH, so I didn’t have classes yesterday. No classes today. To celebrate, I slept in today. I didn’t set my alarm clock or anything. I just slept until I was pleasantly woken up by Weaver’s dragon breath in my face. They were out of food. Huge surprise.
So, my only goal today is to get to Atlanta by dinner time. Specifically, my goal is to get to Atlanta and pick up Pappy Red’s barbecue on my way over so that we can have that for dinner tonight. Tomorrow, we’re getting up at the butt-crack of dawn to go walk the 5k for Mountain Day at Berry. It’ll be the last time we go to see Amy at Berry College for Mountain Day because she’s graduating this Christmas. So, the 5k in the morning (provided it doesn’t rain) and then an afternoon of just relaxing around Berry’s campus with a picnic stuck in there somewhere. I’m not too worried about that right now, though. For now, I’m going to read my comics, listen to more of the Luis Vuitton Cup as I pack and then head off to Atlanta.
