morning drives

I am blessed with a short drive into work every morning. Depending on traffic (which depends on what time I go in in the mornings) I can get to work anywhere between 5 – 10 minutes. This morning, though, was a really special treat for me. I was stuck in traffic, waiting for the Slaughter Rd. light to filter more cars through. Instead of getting frustrated at not moving, though, I just relaxed and my head turned, ever so slightly, to the right. Just to the right of me, the sun was filter through the trees just right, into a small field by the road. Everything was covered in dew, so it looked like shiny diamonds sprinkled over the landscape. The fog from this morning was still dissipating, so it moved like tender fingers, over all of the plants. It was absolutely breathtaking. For that one minute, I got to enjoy a real look into the beauty of nature. I took a picture of it in my head, shifted my car into first and then continued my usual morning drive into work.
