back from the dead… kinda

The past couple of days have been extremely long and extremely exhausting. I’ve been fighting some sort of icky sickness as well as trying to maintain my usual schedule of school, work and homework. The icky whatever the hell I have is basically just a headache with sore throat and constant exhaustion. A normal class/work day leaves me completely drained. Thankfully, my body’s fighting back and I’m down to the sore throat and a little bit of exhaustion.

School has been the usual. I’m learning to use my laptop in some of my classes so that I don’t have to write out all of my notes. Means I work a little less in class and I use less paper. Other than that, I’m actually pretty caught up with schoolwork. I managed not to fall behind too badly while at Dragon*Con, which is a definite bonus. I have a homework assignment in CPE431 due on Tuesday, a tutorial that needs to be completed on Tuesday for CPE495 and then homework assignments to catch up on in MA460. I should be completely caught up on all of that by Tuesday. *crosses fingers*

Work hasn’t been too bad this week, either. Wednesday, I took a half day off from work to partially recover. The rest of the time is work as usual. Kate’s trying to finish training me just in case she goes into labor early. That’s been interesting. If I can just get a hold of all of the Matlab stuff we’re doing, then I’ll be set. She can have her baby and things will continue to move relatively smoothly at work. *prays Kate didn’t go into labor last night*

So far as my personal life goes, well, I haven’t had much of one. Sean sees me for about 30 minutes a day and that’s about it. I’ve been spending most evenings with Allis to work on various homework assignments. Last night, Allis and I called an early evening and Sean and I got a chance to clean the guest bathroom together. Not exactly what I would call primetime bonding, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. This weekend, Sean’s parents and Amy will be in town. We’ll be looking at potential wedding locations on Saturday and then Sunday just relaxing and talking about various stuff related to the wedding. We’ll see if I’m ready to throttle my parents by the end of the weekend. Hopefully, things will go smoothly and quietly this weekend and I can relax just a little bit.

For now, time to get a throat lozenge and get to work.
