summertime
Posted in General on 06/13/2002 08:42 am by katThere are two good reasons for summertime, tomatoes and peaches. Tomatoes are fresh and juicy. You can almost eat them like other fruits. No longer are you searching through the grocery store for the vine-ripe tomatoes. Instead, you head to the local farmer’s market or “side of the street” stand and you find the nice, red tomatoes there. Those are the good ones. And, then there are the peaches. If only there was a way to bottle the true taste of a fresh, juicy peach, I would be in heaven. I went out to Isom’s the other day, just to see what they had so far. The peaches are still a little small (they get larger until they’re huge at their prime season), but they’re juicy and full of flavor. I’ve been munching on my basket of peaches for the past couple of days. A peach was my breakfast this morning. I went ahead and just brought the basket in to work to share around the office, since I know several of my coworkers really enjoy fresh fruit. I think Isom’s is going to be getting some more of my business next week, too.
