road tripping karma

As Amy has mentioned a few times, she’s got a lot of road tripping karma to work off now that she has her own car to drive. To work off some of this karma, Amy, Sean and I decided to take a road trip up to Chattanooga this Saturday. It wound up being a lot of fun. We headed off around 9am from Sean’s and my place and took a leisurely pace to get to Chattanooga. On our way, we stopped at the Lodge cast iron outlet. I drooled over the dutch ovens which I swear I’ll own one of as soon as I have space to store it. (I am not lifting that thing above the shelves like the rest of our cast iron.) I got a small skillet for cooking cornbread as well as a flat skillet for cooking tortillas and sandwiches and such. It’ll be great for making quesadillas.

We spent the rest of the day up in Chattanooga, wandering through the really cool aquarium, relaxing with our feet stuck in the wading ponds around the park by the aquarium and seeing an IMAX movie. For pictures of our adventures, go here.
