Help needed with Hockey skates
Posted in General on 03/07/2002 12:12 pm by SeanYep, it is time to get Sean’s fat ass into shape, and Hockey will be fun, and i may even get to go to the dentist more. Nah, well I do need the help of all my readership (all 4 of you), especially those of you with opinions about hockey skates. I am looking at these two types right now, and if you have any other suggestions i am certainly open to them.

Hey Todd, if you get the chance could you go ahead and post those two websites that you showed me sat night? I think one of the sites was http://www.discounthockey,com i found they have the bauer 3000 for $179.99 so those look like my first choice.

Hey man,
Looks like you’re readers left you hanging on this one. I know I told you in person, but I would like to reiterate the fact that buying a good pair of skates will make learning the sport much easier and much more enjoyable, not to mention, safer.
Buying a $100 dollar pair of skates is good if you’re going to go to public skates once a week. If you’re going to play, it’s in you’re best interests to get closer to the $200 range. If you can find a pair of those skates in last year’s model you can usually get them for 25 to 50% cheaper.
I’m definitely a fan of Bauer Supremes, my have taken a serious beating over the last year and a half and the only problem I’ve had with them is the fact that they stink, but that’s hockey and all skates will stink if you skate bare foot. Nike’s are based off of Bauer boots, so some of them are good, and CCM’s are okay, but I like the lie and feel of the Bauer boot and the TUUK blade holder.

Depending on your size you can get a really good deal on Bauer Supreme 4000 at http://www.hockeygiant.com also if you go to http://www.greatskate.com they have some decent deals.
I haven’t ever heard of the one you listed, but I’ve bought from both of the above sites and recieved really fast reliable service.

For my birthday the group got together and got me come CCM 652’s I believe, hopefully they will get here sometime this week.
