Avoid Your significant other in 4 easy steps: Part One
Posted in General on 02/20/2002 04:02 pm by SeanSomeone cut off my legs now because I don’t want them anymore. This will be the entry of a very tired Sean, but I need something to keep me occupied for the moment, so you all will now suffer. I try and be introspective in my blather, but it always seems to come out as blather anyway, so I am just going to give the rundown of what has been happening.
Saturday:
Plans to drive down to Birmingham with a friend Mike. He and I have chatted on a message board ( Honda-tech) for awhile and I met him for the first time this past fall. I got him to attend an autocross event and he has been hooked ever since. Well he has gotten to know some of the other members down in Birmingham, so I decided to go with him. We wait over at his house for a girl that he was going down there with until about 7:30 PM and then we hit the road. I believe that my speedometer was pegged at about 90 the whole way, at least when there was light traffic.
We meet up with Todd, his girlfriend Trina, and their friend Fasil. Munch food at Mellow Mushroom (they call the bathrooms mellow flushrooms!) and then head out to where the car freaks gather. We park in another lot as to not be associated with those folks, and watch the rice (def: rice=cars with stupid modifications that offer no performance enhancement, for further proof go to riceboypage.com)
We see a ton of stupid looking cars (and I take some pictures) along with some very nice looking, very nice cars too. Most of the time I was just laughing at the crap I was seeing on the road. We then headed out into the country to watch some of the illegals going on (drag racing out in the middle of nowhere). That was somewhat interesting, but only about 50 cars or so where around, so not too much was going on. The best part (we parked out of the way and in a parking lot) was when we saw the single police officer pull down the street. Insanity ensues, the cop busts his one victim and everyone goes along their merry way.
At that point I needed to head on home, said my goodbyes, and headed out. Got home at about 2:30, crashed, and woke up at 9 so that I could get to work 2 friggin hours early at CompUSA at a request of my manager. But, this is long enough for this one entry, so you will have to wait until I get my brain in order for the next installment.
