Another term…

I know that I haven’t been online much lately. It’s more of a combination of reasons than any one real reason. As everyone, I’m sure has figured out, another term has started at UAH. I think that I’m really going to enjoy all of my courses this term. I’ve finally hit that point in my engineering classes where things to start falling together. Knowledge that I accumulated several terms ago is becoming useful now and I actually get to see how to apply this to the real world. I’m also taking a small break from CPE classes this term by taking my second required history course. I’m taking it from Dr. Gerberding again, I had him for my first history course and loved him. I’m not a spectacular writer (why do you think I’m an engineer), but he really makes you think in that class. He doesn’t just want to explain history, he wants us to understand the causes and effects. It’s a great class to start my Tuesdays and Thursdays off. The other classes that I’m taking this term are Intro to Algorithms, Microcomputers, Operating Systems, Operating Systems Lab, Microcomputers Lab.

Other than school, I’ve also been helping out at Eddie Bauer to get the store prepared for closing. Yes, that’s right, the Eddie Bauer store at Madison Square will be closing as of this Saturday (January 19). After that, we have to pack everything remaining up and ship it to other various stores around this district. Monday, I’m going to be working an 8-5 shift just packing and figuring out what we have left in the store.

What else… The rest of my time is doing various things around the condo to make it look a little more like home. The past couple of days, my biggest project is to get my Win98 machine to cooperate with Sean’s Win2k machine so that I can print stuff on the laser printer without having to go to his machine. I finally got it to work last night, but it wasn’t fun and required a quick phone call to my father and a discussion on Win2k’s security and the way they work on networks. It’s intelligent, but annoying as all hell.

That’s it. Hopefully, soon, I will be beginning my new job, which means that I will be sitting at a computer more often, thus I will be online more often, so that I can talk to all of you guys. For now, though, it’s the retail track for me.
