Houston, we have a connection
Posted in General on 01/02/2002 03:53 pm by katFor the past week, two apartments have slowly converged into one. The result is our new condo in which Sean and I now, officially, live together at. The old apartments at Colonial Village are completely gone and now all of our stuff is in one location. A timeline of events over the past days:
Thursday (27th): Start moving boxes to the new condo
Friday (28th): Try to move all of my stuff to the new condo, but because of truck difficulties, only manage smaller items, bed, desk and washer/dryer.
Saturday (29th): Equipped with more trucks and strong men, we manage to get everything out of both Sean’s and my apartments that require large trucks to move. Started to unpack new condo.
Sunday (30th): Cleaning time. Cleaned out Sean’s apartment and moved the rest of his stuff out. Cleaned most of my apartment and left the rest for Jess to work on. Continued unpacking at new condo.
Monday (31st): Move out day. Grabbed the rest of my stuff from my place and went back through, cleaning what Jess hadn’t. Turned in keys and said good bye to many happy memories, went back to new condo to start new memories here. Supposedly got cable turned on, but that didn’t happen. Had New Year’s Eve bash at new place to break the condo in.
Tuesday (1st): Recupperated from the ton of drinking that we did the previous night. Continued to straighten up condo and start to turn it into an actual place to live and not the land of the boxes.
Wednesday (2nd): Geez… It’s already Wednesday. Things are starting to come together once more. My room is almost completely put together, with my dry erase board set up, ready for classes to begin, and my computer with Civ III installed on it. Got Comcast to come out today and get cable to work. We now have internet and cable goodness. Aaahhh… how I’ve missed my internet connection.
There’s still a lot to unpack and hook up, like the stereo system, but all things will come in time. For now, we’re just working out the kinks of the apartment and enjoying the fact that we’re finally living together. All is good with the world and this has been a kickass way to start the new year off.
