Being one of the herd

So, since everyone is doing the Friday Five thing, I figured that I might as well. Baa

1. What did you have for dinner last night?
Asparagus gream sauce- recipe stolen from Amy. Not bad if I say so myself.

2. Do you ever get up for a midnight snack?]
Well I had a bowl of cereal at 11:15, but that is pretty unusual for me, i guess I was hungry after bowling. (people will still not believe your score Geof)

3. What’s your favorite dessert?
Caramel dipped cones from Dairy Queen, simple, messy and effective in going straight to my waistline.

4. Tell us something about you that would surprise us.
I am a jalepeno on a stick.

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend?
House hunting, cleaning stuff in the apartment, playing Final Fantasy Tactics (revisiting an old game good), and making sure Kat does not drive herself crazy studying for finals.

More House Stuff

So many places to see, so little time to see them. This seems to be the trend. Note: people who do not want to rent places to people with cats are for the most part assholes. Bugger em. Well anyway we shall hopefully be looking at two more places today, one at lunch that is off of Golf road (memorial pky south) and another out towards madison, but not too far from where we are now. We did get approved for one place that is near the office, it is not bad but it is an older house with very small rooms, so we are still keeping our options open, but at least I know now that I have good enough credit to get into a place 🙂

Also, there is goingo be a housewarming/new year’s party this year at the new settlement, all those still in huntsville are invited, we will get you some more details as the date gets closer.

Waiting on a phone call

Ok, what did I do in my past that makes me have the longest background checks in the world. First Circuit City and now CompUSA. *sigh* Guess I should have buried those people a bit deeper. Well anywho if you folks didn’t know I am still waiting to get a holiday job, just waiting and waiting. But things will work out in the end.

Update: Kat and I have looked at two houses so far, well a condo and a house. And if she calls me back we have another one to look at today. wheeeee

Wrapping up the term

I’m completely finished with one of my classes now. It’s just my Electronics lab, but it was certainly not just a breeze to go through. The lab instructor was definitely persistent on us understanding exactly what we were doing in these labs. Our final exam was a common-emitter BJT circuit. Nothing particularly hard. He gave us the schematic and we had to build it and then take some measurements from the circuit and analyze the measurements. I handed in my results and he took a quick look at them and wrote the one thing I really wanted to see on my paper: “A+” Woohoo! My first A for the term! I mean, it doesn’t count for much, since it’s only a lab, but still, it’s a really good start to the end of the term.

House Hunting

Sean and I have been seriously house hunting lately. It almost seems surreal to think that in just about a month, we’ll be moving out of our apartments and into a house somewhere. We’re really looking at the Five Points area of town as it’s relatively close to everything else in town and it’s a pretty cheap area of town to live in and still get a decent sized home. One of my managers at work is even helping keep an eye out in the Five Points area since that’s where she lives and I don’t think she’d mind some more people to hang out with in that area.

We’re also looking in other areas as well, though. There are a couple decent prospects out in the Madison area where it’s also relatively cheap to live comfortably. We’ll see which prospects actually start to weed out. Sean and I are having a good time house hunting and it’s even more fun to think of all the rooms that I get to decorate and have here soon. mmm… An actual computer room… oooohhhh….
