Sake Rice Burner

Ok, so I did promise to review the Honda S2000 that I had the opportunity to test drive. This car is the true definition of a rice rocket. The car was a sleek gray/silver color that is fairly common these days, but gives the car a nice slightly understated nature. Sitting down (yes down) in the car is an experience. The seats are very comfortable, but not quite as hip-hugging as the RSX’s. This was not really needed considering that the space inside he car is fairly small. I did feel a bit cramped, and there was not a lot of room in the footwell, but this a compromise when you figure that this is a small convertible with rear wheel drive. Well I did manage to stall the thing at the very beginning in the lot (you have to push the stick down to get it into reverse, go fig) but this did remind me of a very cool feature: the push button starter. In this car you insert the key and turn it, then you punch a red button on the left hand side that says start. Sweet. You are then surrounded by the sweet burble of the exhaust rumbling out the dual tailpipes in the rear.
Acceleration: Astounding. That is all I have to say. This is a 2.4 L car that produces 240 HP and 153 ft. lb of torque. All of this is mated to a sweet 6 speed manual transmission. This little rice burner goes 0-60 in under 6 seconds, trust me, it does J. Again, like the RSX I did not get the chance to play too much with the handling, but it was not jarring at all and very smooth with minimal body roll, it gives a lot of confidence to the driver. This is the type of performance most cars can only dream of, and in a great little package. As I told our sales rep Shane, “Forget a Corvette when I hit my mid life crisis, I’m getting one of these…” Put one of these on my list of cars to buy please.

What’s scary is that y’all know your salespeople by name.
